Its getting that time of year for me, when its cold outside its always a good time to fire up the lathe.

This is a striker I made. It has 3 different types of wood, cherry walnut & holly.
The three photos shows the steps and end result. I should have taken a photo while it was on the lathe. ::mixed::

Wow. Neat stuff there. Why is it when the fall hunting seasons are over, the new year begins, its cold and rainy outside, and all we think about is mid April.

Yes, and mid-may for small mouth fishing toooo.....I've already started dreaming about that big one. :D

If I could just get in a little more shop time I've ordered some coyote distress, barred owl, crow, elk reeds. I can just see the police being here because of all the crazy sounds made by me disturbing the neighborhood.

Check this dude out with a little molded coyote call. He can use that thing.

Ive made some strikers over the years and that one looks neat. I like how you joined the pieces.

I've been building a few rods and almost finished with a fly tying desk.

I'll second that Fish (Photo's), I like seeing anything handmade and how it was done.

Thanks Ked_man, I used a 1/4 dowel to splice the pieces together with Titebond lll glue

Found enough time today to turn another one. Its hard for me to get them exactly the same, my eye site is not what it use to be.

Hey that makes everyone an original ,I've never made any of my laminated bowls even close to the same. That is what makes handmade special.
