It's been a strange spring with all the rain and cold fronts keeping me off the water quite a bit and as luck would have it a front was coming through this weekend. Yet even with rain in the forecast Steve and I decided to take the chance and head to Buck creek. When we got there the drizzle started and the clouds stayed around until well after noon. We knew that the bite would be off, we also knew we would probably only get smaller ones to bite and that turned out to be true. This is a spring feed creek and it has a number of caves along the creek, If you have never been on Buck creek I suggest you try it at least once. We ended up catching around thirty redeyes and smallies and I hooked one huge muskie that tangled my line in a big rock and got off ::upset:: ::upset:: ::crying:: ::crying:: . All in all we had a trip that was well worth the effort and I will be back on it this year if I can. ::yes:: ::yes::

Now that's a beautiful place with the caves & cliff faces. I really didn't know where Buck Creek was, but with a quick google search I came up with this interesting link with a put-in --take out points , plus a link to a topo.

I far as my fishing this year, nothing but plenty of work & flooding in my area. I guess the fishing will have to come later once the water goes down and clears.

Looks like a gorgeous flow there! Pitty you guys didnt have better conditions or results. At the very least you were surrounded with natures splendor which is always nice.

This is one nice creek and it will produce some good fish, we just went at the wrong time for that. This is a creek that is about halfway for both of us if you get the chance we could meet and float it, It's about an hour from your home and mine.
