I've been trying to figure something out about carrying a Pistol.

So far, I've found that carrying a pistol in the glove compartment is acceptable. Which, I guess I've known that for a while.

I was wondering, if you are carrying the gun, in the open on a belt holster. Is it considered Concealing it, and would you need the CCDW permit to carry one in such a manner?

I'm just trying to figure out exactly what you need the CCDW for. I'll probably wind up taking a class sometime, since they teach them for a pretty fair price at a place very nearby to where I live. I'd just like to know the whole point behind it, since I don't actually plan on concealing anything by hiding it.

Not for sure Archer, but I would think concealed means hidden(not visible) on your person. Having a weapon concealed on your person and out in the PUBLIC, I would think you would definitely need a permit.

I have at times been in road checks and when the Officer approached my car I would immediately inform him that I had a weapon and its location. I always keep the weapon where it can be seen by the officer. I've never had any problems with this approach without a permit, BUT its been awhile (years) since I've been pulled over by the police. :D
