i was gonna go sunday....just too windy down here. i mean BAD windy, and swirling from different directions so it made finding a holler with no wind too big of a hassle. doesnt look good for me next weekend either as far as hunting goes....maybe early saturday or sunday...hopefully....

Sorry I didn't make the meeting; I figured that if Preston and some of the other guys were there everything would be covered for sure.

Yeah, season will be over soon. I'm hunting all day Saturday and Sunday.

BCO, a buddy of mine invited me to go w/him. The conditions were horrible where we were, but Chief managed to find a few. We never could get a good set though because of the wind swirling.

looks like you had a great weekend. i hunted saturday, got 3 up but behind the pine thick i was approaching  so by the time i had turned around to the flurry all around me, they had all pitched over a high wall. dog is hunting a lot better i must say though, so thats good i guess. didnt hunt sunday...did go on one heck of a snow ride on the wheeler. had a blast. pace we need to go this weekend if you get a chance. walleye should be biting soon, when they start, grouse season is over for this cat.

High pressure, blue bird skys....the birds didn't hold very well. A couple did, but did what they needed to in order to survive! Gonna try it again this evening....can't believe it's over.

Total for season: 20

Well, I hate to see the season end; it sure was a lot of fun. The dog did great and pointed MANY more than 20 birds. They can sure be hard to hit...

Yesterday was a fitting end to the season; my buddy Bruce and I went out and had a real good time. The weather was nice (not perfect for grouse hunting though) and we managed to find a couple birds. I thought that it wasn't going to happen and then Chief locked up within the last 100 yards of the hunt. Perfect point, shot, retrieve, day and season!

must be nice :?

ah well, i didnt get any this season, but with my work schedule, and considering i didnt have a dog til over halfway through the season, and considering the weekends have been pretty crappy as of late, im happy with the birds i saw. hopefully next year, and i can somehow find some more time to hunt. still going to buy some quail this weekend....those are always fun, and a lot slower
