The other nite about 2:30 after I finished some work on the website I decide to run to Wal-Marts to see what type of new turkey calls they were selling this season.
For some unknown reason I always buy a new call each season, Ive been looking for a nice glass,... primos my favorite call maker just happen to have one which wal mart carries. It has a Mahogany Pot and comes with a laminated hardwood sticker.
By sounds this call can produce it has no doubt found its place in one of my vest pockets, along with another faithful call that I own from primos, The Box Cutter. :)

I'm in Louisville right now at a conference and made a visit to the new Bass Pro just across the river...NICE!!!!!!!! It's much, much nicer than the one in S-ville and even better than the one in Cincy. I don't need a new turkey vest, but just about bought the new National Wild Turkey Federation SuperElite 3 vest tonight...it's awesome and has a seat that looks like it's about 7-8" thick.

So JD, the new Primos call sounds good? I thought about buying a new one; it's hard to lay my Cody down though....lol

I guess I'm always looking for calls with a different tones to them. I have a buddy who bought a homemade call off of a guy out of Virgina,..man he consistently takes birds with that call every year. It definitely has a different tone to it,..if I'm not mistaken it has an oak pot with glass.
I'm not sure what type sound board it has in it.

I bought a JackPot this weekend. I played with it a little in the truck on the way home but it needs a real good scuffing to work well. Seems to be a sweet sound from what I could tell though.

Charley, if you can pick up some glass etching cream at a krafts store, it does a good job without scratching glass to deep.

Or just use real fine sand paper.

The glass fell out of mine,..but thats OK,..I'm going to etch the whole face of the glass before I put it back in.

I have found scotch brite to be very effective at scuffing. I just haven't had a chance. The sand paper that came with it was not real good.

Yes scotch brite does work well. I just tried the etching cream on the call I made this weekend and she sounds good. I would like to find the sweet spots on the glass so I can only etch those areas on the next call I make. This way the emblem underneath still will be visible.
