I have always wanted to shoot the Gobbler Guillotines in my crossbow. I went with the 125 gr. GG so I knew I had no clearence with the stirrup on. So, I cocked the crossbow, removed the stirrup, and loaded a bolt.

I used my Block 4x4 but I box taped a folded blanket and folded old pillow on it. Then, I placed the homemade paper target. I wanted enough cushion so the blades of the GG wouldn't penetrate into my expensive Block.

I had my Exocet lined up with 100 gr. Wasps. So, I lined my scope up with 125 gr. field tips and was shooting dead nuts at 20 yards within a few shots. I decided to shoot one of my gobbler guillotines knowing that I might bend or break the blades. Well, I did bent up my blades but, I am glad I shot one. Let me tell ya, when that GG hit that target it sounded like a shotgun went off. I aimed at the circle but I actually hit about 2 inches low which is fine. I was more concerned about it going left to right more than up and down. I think it is okay if it goes up an down a fuzz, that is the kill zone ya know. Anyway, I could have pulled down a fuzz also, maybe? If it does shoot about 2 inches low at 20 yards then I guess I can aim a little higher or bump my elevation up an inch or so. This shot would have done the trick at 20 yards though. For those who don't know much about the GG's: the plastic straws that slide over the blades are used to make the arrow more aerodynamic. This is a very large broadhead. Stability is critical. I have heard that what I experienced is what they are meant to do. But, anything past 20-25 yards and the arrow will start to become unstable. I'll be taking my xbow on opening day turkey season!

That is one bad broadhead. I have a crossbow and may just try hunting with it the season.
