Hey guys I finally got me one.

This has been probably the hardest I have every hunted for turkeys. I took 8 days off work (including weekends) and just never got the opportunity to shoot until today. But, I had been filming some hunts for my friends also, so it wasn't really that bad. I harvested this bird on a quota hunt on the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, KY. This was an amazing hunt....gobblers everywhere. Finally I was able to get a chance to shoot, and my new Benelli Super Black Eagle II with the JellyHead/Nitro combo performed perfectly. He was 22 pounds, had almost 1 inch spurs, and had a 10.25 inch beard. Fun hunt.

My real trophy is in my arms in this pic....my little girl...my future hunting partner.

My hunting partner was able to fill his KY tags with a jake he shot about an hour after we called in my gobbler. We had an awesome time

Looks like you guys are having a good season. That makes 4 Toms that I have seen from down your way.
Having a tough time here,..doesn't seem to be as many birds as in previous years,..plus the ones that are here,..is getting a lot of hunting pressure.

Congrad's on yours a Chad's success. :)

what happen to the crossbow?

i hadn't never heard of anyone using the heads with a crossbow, couldn't wait for a report.

nice pic with the baby, they are alot of work. its like turkey season for months, no sleep and wore out all the time. but when they look up at you and smile, you feel you could do anything.

congrats nice gobbler.

It has just been too hard.... gobblers coming in just out of bow range. I really needed to fill a tag and the Benelli helped. If we can get on some more birds and blind hunt again, I will be taking the crossbow. I filmed my uncle miss a nice gobbler on opening day. He was using his Ross bow and the gobbler guillotine and missed the bird at 7 yards. Then he missed a jake at 7 yards also. Best thing, we got it all on film!!!
