This is a portion of the Middle fork that is located on route 257 towards Hyden Ky At the intersection of 257 and Old Mill Road. The fishing was slow I think because of the drought and extremely low water levels, but I saw huge largemouths in the river and I hooked one(just couldn't get it in). There were 6 or7 people fishing the area and one small boy had caught a 20' Lmouth right before I arrived

That reminds me of Redbird somewhat,.. with the pools of water.
Good description of the location Fish. In other words approximately 37 10' 55.14 N -----83 22' 58.58 W :)

Yeah, it does look like Red bird but it is a lot wider and it is full of largemouths I saw several that would go 4lb. If this drought lets up they ought to go wild. as far as the longitude and latitude you gave me all I have to say is "WHAT" ::mixed::

I use the the longitude and latitude to place photo on the map ;)

I was in Lawrence Co. today at a buddies house. There's a big hole of water in front of his house, but the rest of the creek is dry. I tossed pieces of a wild flower on top of the water,.. the creek chubs would hit everyone that I throwed in. The water was almost stagnated.

Man I tell you this drought may have effects on fishing for more than this year . It has to be hard on the big fish and on the new born that are concentrated in the pools (easier targets). I hope I'm wrong but if something doesn't give soon it very well may be.

the creek at our barn is bone dry...minus 2 big holes...one is about 4 feet deep and 10 feet in diameter...theres more chubs in that thing than you could ever want. some really big ones...gonna use them next time i go fishing...

The problem is going to be (if we don't get rain is that those chubs and other bait fish will probably die off and effect the food chain for the bigger fish. That would be a disaster for the smallies. also I think that the oxygen levels in the water right now are low, which may be the reason for the slow bite or no bite at all. JMO

i think you are 100% dead on...thats why right now youre more likely to catch smallies in faster moving, deeper water. but i tried at at cumberland the other day and still no luck...beautiful looking water too...really got me down.

i think this hole of water at the barn will hold out...

we are supposed to be gettin hard rain the next 2 days here...i hope anyway.
