Well in TN anyway :D

man ive still got GEAR to buy too! need a trip down to gander mtn and QUICK

season opens in TN oct 6 and nonresident small game licenses run 91 dollars and you can hunt squirrel, rabbit, grouse and any other small game with it. for woodcock and other migratory birds there is a 2 dollar stamp you gotta buy and also for duck along with small game license you need a federal duck stamp. but i am going to hunt the crap out of tackett creek, ive seen too many grouse through there to pass up! i know sapphire is ready to go too!!

kentucky season opens up on november 1.

yep youre right i probably wont take her in the grouse woods til all the leaves are on the ground. by that same measure though i shouldnt be shooting quail over her, shes just as likely to get bit in a field i would imagine. guess ill hunt dogless and just scout for some good coverts til late oct/early november. the leaves will be on the ground sooner this year i believe, a lot are already starting to turn and i expect full fall colors in about 2 weeks. me and aimee are planning on shooting some clays this weekend, i still have a bunch. ive got a double thrower too. call me if you want to go.

I think you could possible shoot some planted quail to help her out...espically if you goto a place like we did last year...there is a little cover and the grass is thin..and after you make around or to to plant you bird you should be pretty much snake free...I hope so anyway...if you have any luck on getting some quail let me know...

10-4 buddy we can for sure keep them at the barn. we'll get up this weekend one day and go get some!

On a side note...I found new places in Tackett...Good LORD I cant wait to hunt this place. They have done a reclaim job like I have never seen...EVER. picture perfect strips of sage and white pine. autumn olive and even saw some apple and wild cherry trees i do believe. and i found some autumn olive back there that still had berries. absolutely perfect grouse and deer habitats. ive seen grouse, deer, and turkey almost everytime ive been...itll be well worth the 90$ out of state small game license to hunt this spot.
