Seat looks ruff on the one man,..but at 50lbs it would be easy to get in and out of water.

I have done research for about three months before we bought our boats, I'll get some of the info to you tonight if possible. Yeah they said the seat was hard on the fisherman after about an hour of fishing. Also the short pontoons are more suited for lakes and not moving water( 9' or longer is recomended for rivers). Also the thread count (denier) on the pontoon covers is important. Some are made with 900 denier, the river one have 1200 denier at least on the bottom and some are all 1200 and double coted in pvc(for durability).

http://www.ezflyfish.com/fishcat9dlx.html In my opinion this would be a good boat, You could probably get the same boat at sportsman warehouse for $399(I could call and check on the price if you want). To me the most important thing was to have 1200 denier covers that were double coated in pvc and that the craft was solid. The last thing I wanted was to not have a boat that I can't depend on to get me to my destination (back home).JMO

10-4 on the back home

Man I've read so much tonight,..i'm confused now ::mixed::

But I do think I'll buy two of the one man,..... instead of the double.

Which one for sure is Sportsman getting in that you like. I'll most likely buy mine online to save me a trip to Lex.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Colorado-Pontoon-boat-fly-fishing-reel-rod-float-tube_W0QQitemZ170199385501QQihZ007QQcategoryZ7299QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Here is a boat that may fit the bill. I don't think it is the quality of the fishcat or the creek co, but could suit your needs. We are buying the fishcat 10-IR with out the fishing platform($499), I have found them at one site for the same price, but I deleted it from my favorites ::crying:: . The 9-IR is a good boat also. The creek co boats we really like are the 915 and the 1018 ($609 on ebay)the supersport9' or the 816 would work well also. I agree that having a single is better than the tandem especially with flyfising (nothing ruins a fishing trip like sinking a hook in your fishing partner  ::crying:: ). Personally I choose my boat for it's quality and price. I would buy as good a boat as I could afford because like I said you are depending on that boat to get you down the river safe and to get you back home.JMO

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,75961_Water-Skeeter-Pontoon-Boat-Snohomish.html This is one that I considered,if I hadn't found mine at SW I would have probably bought this one. the only thing that I didn't like about this one is the black color (which would heat up and cause the air pressure to change in the tubes) but it would be simply a matter of lettting a little air out when they start heating up. This is a good company to deal with, I have bought hundreds of dollars of product from them with no problems. I think they are also having a 10% off your first order sale.

Sending PM again.
Looked up the denier definition,..just wondering about that:
Quote:
A unit of weight expressing the size or coarseness of a natural or synthetic fiber or yarn

Also have been thinking about my fishing habits and how I would use the pontoon, as far as shoals & the type of waters I would fish. Maybe help me determine how durable the boat that I would need.

Simply put the denier refers to the thread count per square inch. In other words a 600 thread would have 600 threads per square inch, versus a 1200 which would have 1200 threads per square inch ( making it a smoother and more durable fabric). My wife explained that to me and looked at me like ,everyone should know that ::crying:: :D .

It's my understanding it is just like a canoe or a kayak no need to register it (non motorized). but I'm going to look on the ky .gov site to make sure.
