Have you ever fished the Tug? It looks like a good river and is on the smallmouth site.

Yes ,..pretty river during summer months. Has some small mouth,..not many,..mostly large. Has a lot of mine water run off.
The upper end towards west virginia was the best fishing,...haven't floated it in 15 years.

We would probably catch 20-30 on a five mile float, really just depend. Mostly use a top water plug such as a devil horse or jitter bug. All was average to small.

I've (tried) fished the Tug for Smallies a couple times, with rarely any success. But, the tug is a great place to catfish.
