patterning my turkey gun has been done many times in the past I still miss anyway...I get so caught up in the action and watching the bird...I let him get in too close and don't get my head back down on the stock and shoot over him every time...It took a whole box of shells last year to get one...yes I missed a lot...but it did extend my season....and I do it every year..

Maybe you're like me,..I enjoy the hunting (The Chase) more that I do the killing.

Pattern my gun is something I haven't done,..just seem to never get the time. Or I always make an excuse to be doing something else.
My son & wife bought me a 1187 about 6-7 years ago, I believe, I hunted one season with it before I bought my son a 870 super mag to rabbit hunt with. He has never hunted turkey, so I have been taking the 870 ever since. Sorta grew up with an 870 and old habits are hard to break. :)
Except for and old old 16 ga. single shot Stevens that my whole family grew up hunting with in our early years. My nephew still has the old Stevens,..I know for sure it's 40 + years old.
