Just about made up my mined on buying the last one, getting it in,.. testing before I buy the second one to make sure this type is the one I like.
I can already see we need rod holders and a few extra's,..saw one setup today where a guy had 4 holders made out of PVC on the back of his.
Probably need seat raise 2-3 inches with swivel.

I have found at wal mart rod holders that come in a two pack that I think will work very well. do you have a link to the pvc rod holders you saw? You can get the seat ext at walmart and the swivel seat (I bought both for the canoe last year). I think my ext is 5" or 6" which should be the right height for the boats, I'm going to use mine when on the lakes, I think the swivel seat may be a problem on the river when trying to apply pressure to the paddle stroke and the extenton could cause the toon to be top heavy in fast moving current. ( but I may be wrong).

I was reading about a dude on river samllies. He is out of Va and fished the south holston a lot. He also had fished with raft, jon boat, and finally a toon, which he was well satisfied with. He had about 4 mounted on back near trolling motor, but to one side. Plus one on each side on front,..but they looked to be store bought. ************* The swivel seats may not even be needed with these boats,.just guessing, I would say they are easy turned on the water.

The only reason I would use a swivel seat is when fishing the lakes so I could turn sideways to acess the trolling motor easier and to face where I was casting.JMO

That's definitely one idea,.that one also has a brace to rest against while casting.

Your idea about a sliding deck sounds like a winner,..can wait until my boat come in. That way I can see what I have to work with.

I think if you use a 7" ext for the seat you may not need the platform.I don't know about yours ,but ours has very little room for a platform. I bought a set of fins that attach to your shoes ,the guys I have talked to says you can steer the toon with the fins and it keeps your hands free to fish.

Yes that will definitely work when water warms up,.I was thinking of some type small platform that would enable me to get the boat lanched when water is a little cool.

I know you just have the hip waders, but most of the guys wear their waders while they are using it in cooler water. That is what we are going to do.

I know what your saying, Now you know why I tie my own flies . Our toons have two storage pockets that I'm just going to use for a tackle box. If I read it right your will have a bunch on storage on board your boat. Check out serria trading post for waders , they have some good deals a lot of time especially in the bargin or clearance bin.
