I stopped in at a new fishing store today. It's just North of Hazard on KY HWY 15.

It was called East Kentucky Outdoors. Right now he has a HUGE selection of fishing lures in stock, if you want something that you can't find anywhere else, then I bet you could find it there. He had a few fishing poles and reels in stock as well.

The guy says that he will be getting more in stock soon. Probably be getting some hunting supplies in as well. He was saying that he has already had a bunch of people stopping in asking about the upcoming turkey season.

I'd say if business does good it won't be long before he starts getting a whole lot more in.

He says he'll be getting a lot of live bait in soon as well. Right now he has some worms of all types. He's hoping to get some sort of tank in soon so he can sale minnows as well.

I really hope this place does good. It's the kind of store I've been waiting on. Beats the heck out of picking through the same of junk at Wal-Mart all the time. Plus its just better to have that personal touch that a small business can give.

I agree, wal mart has the same stuff every year it seems and never any selection. IF everyone puts the word out he may do well, I hope so.

I think the fish are even tired of seeing the same old Wal-Mart lures thrown at them. They probably joke about us silly humans and our Wal-Mart lures.

I would say in some of the lakes around here the bass see the same lure so much they think it's their cousin   .

I hope he does good,..I love seeing the mom & pop stores make it.
When Wally World went in here it shut down the local mall,.but guess what,..and ole local boy bought the mall and she's back. With some mom & pops, & chain stores,..but she is coming back providing a variety of goods offered.

This guy seems to be doing alright. Every time I drive by there, I see a couple of different cars sitting around there.

He has some really fair prices on things too. With the selection that he has, and the prices, I believe he will be able to make it a little while longer. I know I'll keep putting the good word for his place.

I wish I could be completely Anti-Wal-Mart and not have to do any shopping there. There really isn't anything I like about going in there. I personally love the little mom and pop stores, and don't care a bit to spend just a little extra to go to them. I don't consider it paying more for just the product, I consider that little extra to be the extra attention that I get from the people who own the stores, putting there all into getting business and keeping it.

Those chain stores, they just get to me, they have a little bit of a lot of things, but never exactly what you need. A mom and pop store, they have a whole lot of a few things, and you get exactly what you had in mind, and if you can't find it the day you're there, they'll get it in for you to make sure you do.

You just can't beat em.
