I just couldn't stand it any longer with the weather so nice (other than being cloudy) I had to go fishing. The North Fork had a little above normal water levels and the water was a little cloudy ( visability was about 2' in the water) The water temp was around 55 degrees. I started out with a clouser minnow and had no luck. Then I went to a wolly bugger no luck. Then I tied on a new fly I have been working on similar to a curly tail grub chartreuse color. First cast a smallie about 8" long about ten cast later this bad boy. It looks like the bite is on and the new fly is a winner. I will try to put tying instuctions for the fly on this week.

Here we go ,..spring fishing season has officially started.

I'm hoping my toon will be in next week,.so I can get down to adding some extras on it,.getting it ready.

Thanks I'm torn up now it's going to be hard not to sneak off everday now that I know their biting . I've yet to put the toon on the water but I''m going to try to this week. I have to make my anchor system this week also.

Well, I've been fighting the fishing bug all winter long now. Seeing pictures like this doesn't help me at all.

Gonna have to at least put line back on some of my spinning reels, so I can get out and do a little fishing in the meantime. Get into the swing of things before I embarrass myself in front of you all trying to learn to cast a fly line.

Hey your not going to embarass yourself , we all stated the same way. Believe you me I make a bad cast or two everytime I go. But It is simply not that hard to learn and the sooner you get started the sooner you will be pulling in the smallies. If you would like to get together to just do some casting that would be fine with me. Then you will see that it isn't as hard as it looks. I sent you a pm with my # give me a call and we can practice here at the house or where ever you like.

I'll definitely be giving you a call sometime. Just kinda trying to see what my April work schedule is going to be like. That's the worst thing about my job, the schedule is always so screwy it's hard to plan anything out ahead of time. Then when I do get something planned, the schedule changes for that day.

I'll take me a day soon, and just leave the phone behind so no one can tell me that it's changed.

No problem ,I'm pretty flexable about when I can go just let me know. I had a job like that once and it really messes with you.
