Season ended for me pretty quick this year. It was my shortest season, but, my most memorable thus far. It was a season of firsts: I shot my first double with my brother (his first) and I shot my biggest bird to date - a true limbhanger, my first longbeard with a bow. I've learned over the years that these jokers we chase every year live outside: meaning - when its Spring in KY and the turkeys are gobbling, season is in, you better be hunting....even if you have to set through a few snow showers and rain. You simply cant kill'em on the sofa.

My uncle and I set up on some roosted jakes this morning, but they were too much intersted in the hens they were running with. After we left, we heard a gobbler on another farm but decided to get to him after church....

Around 2:00 this afternoon, we set up in the field where we heard the gobbler. My uncle worked his magic with a Quaker Boy Old Boss Hen mouth call. Rain showers came and went, but, this ole tom gobbled about 200 yards away. He took a while to come in. But, sure enough.....he came right in to the decoys. I took a 20 yard shot with my bow. Hit him in the neck and he dropped in his tracks. All on video..... awesome hunt. My first limbhanger gobbler and first turkey bow kill.

He was a brute
26 pounds
1 1/4 inch spurs
10 1/4 inch beard

Some people have all the "LUCK".

But then you have to look one definition of LUCK.
Define: LUCK-> preparedness meeting opportunity.

Thats definitely a Limbhanger and having taken it with a bow, has truly made a great season for you. Way to go dude !!! :)
