My unlce and I went back to the same farm I killed my gobbler on this evening. This time I was filming and he was shooting. We set up the blind and put the decoys about 12 yards away. We started calling with a box call and I would gobble with my gobble tube. All of a sudden, directly to the left, two jakes came in, straight to our full strut decoy with a jake fan. My uncle pulls back, releases, but....hit high. Shot the feathers right off the jakes back. The two jakes left and and gobbled a few times. When they gobbled we heard another turkey gobble, but this one sounded like a mature tom. I gobbled a few more times with my gobble tube and started jake yelping with my mouth call. Moments later, again to our left, the gobbler shows up half strut walking straight to our decoys. My uncle pulls back and smacks him right in the vitals. The gobbler runs off and we hear those jakes flogging him and gobbling over the hill. It was an awesome hunt. My uncle and I took our first gobbler bow kills within 50 yards of each other within two days, both limbhanger gobblers. Hope you enjoy the pics.
