Fished the middle fork today, near Stinnet (about 10 miles past Hyden). The water was low but the fish were biting ,caught about 20 smallies also caught some huge Redeyes( forgot to take pictures of the Redeyes) . All the smallies were about the size of the ones in the pictures , did hook a huge one just couldn't land him . Also saw several huge smallies. It is a good looking river even with the water so low.

Nice Fish! Dang...Good to know they were biting somewhere

I had one of the worst weekends a person fishing could have. And on a full moon weekend! What gives?!

Went Saturday down to meet MJ/Ronnie/Boone. Got there late (got sick first early in the AM, then got lost), we ended up fishing Pigeon River for 3 or so hours. One smallie...and he was a dink. My buddy caught one small largemouth...MJ/Ronnie/Boone may have got one or two small ones apiece...Great looking water, deeper and everything...Fish just werent cooperating. Fished Fern Saturday night and Sunday...Pitiful. Caught one little largemouth...Had one about 3 lbs hooked last night, didnt get him in. Just a sad, pathetic weekend as far as fishing goes. Still had a good time down at the Pigeon...Like I said it was some beautiful water...And another good thing is that when me and my buddy Rob got lost looking for MJ, we were way back in the country and found some absolutely stunning water on the Nolichucky...Never seen prettier smallmouth water. Ill definately be back to fish that piece soon.

Hopefully we'll have better luck on the Holston this weekend.

Hate to hear that you fellows didn't do to well, I even stopped back at the north on the way home and hooked probably the best one of the year on a frog pattern and couldn't get it in either the big ones gave me fits yesterday. we will have to go to the middle when you and Jd and Mj get a chance . it is back in the boonies and a dirt road travels right along the river. I didn't follow it to far but if think it goes a long ways becausse there were people riding four wheelers everwhere .but I only saw two people fishing .(by the way I can't figure out what happened to my post I couldn't get it to work right ???not real good with these computers yet but learning

It looks like that I'm not going to get to make the trip this weekend  .I'm up a against a wall on this building that I'm working on and I have to get it finished. But I want to take a trip down there after I get the building done. I was looking at the map of the Holston and there are a lot of good size islands in the river , I would like to do a two day float trip at the end of the month and camp out on one of those Islands if that is possible. I think that would be a blast.

We need to talk to MJ and see if he can find out if there would be a problem doing that. That way we could fish at night to and get two days of fishing in. 8)

If you can wait until saturday or sunday I can go with you. If you look at the pictures of those smallies they were biting a new popper that I found on the internet . I will tie up a bunch of them for us and we'll give it a try.

Like I told BCO, the building I'm working on will keep me from going( I really wish I could but I've got to get this building done). but I would like to find out if we could stay on one of the Islands, because I would really like to fish that river, and if we can't I would still like to come down and fish the River if you can find the time . Sorry I can't make it this week end, but after the building is done I will be free to fish all I want.
